Oticon Xceed
Oticon's most powerful hearing aid, built specifically for severe to profound hearing loss, where a standard hearing aid simply cannot give you enough. Available in three technology levels.
Power, where you need it.
Xceed is a different kind of hearing aid to the rest of the Oticon range. It is designed from the ground up for severe and profound loss, with far more output than a standard behind-the-ear aid can produce, and specific technology to keep speech clear at those levels without whistling.
Which Xceed suits you?
Same physical hearing aid, same power. The higher the level, the better it copes with noise and the more finely we can tune it. We recommend a level after your hearing test, based on your results and how you live.
Work, family gatherings, restaurants, groups. If your complaint is "I manage at home but I am lost in company", this is the level.
- Strongest noise removal
- Handles busy rooms best
- Most precise fitting
Some noise, but not constantly. A busy pub will feel less composed than with Xceed 1, but it is still a modern hearing aid and a sensible choice where budget matters.
- Moderate noise removal
- Good in everyday noise
- Very precise fitting
One-to-one conversation, television, small rooms. Uses Oticon's older noise approach, so it is a different way of processing sound, not just less of the same.
- Basic noise handling
- Best in quiet settings
- Less room to shape the fitting
Styles, battery and connectivity.
Styles and battery
Two behind-the-ear styles: Super Power, using a size 13 battery, and Ultra Power, using a size 675 battery for maximum output. Both use disposable batteries. There is no rechargeable version of Xceed.
Connectivity
Streams from iPhone directly, works with the Oticon ON app, and pairs with ConnectClip, the TV Adapter and Oticon's other accessories. It does not support Bluetooth LE Audio or Auracast.
A note on honesty
Xceed dates from 2019 and runs on Oticon's older platform, not the newer chip inside Intent. For severe and profound loss it remains the right tool because nothing else in the range delivers that output. You are choosing it for power, not for the latest processing.
Frequently asked questions.
Your audiogram tells us. If your hearing loss is in the severe to profound range, a standard hearing aid physically cannot give you enough without whistling. Xceed is built for exactly that, with far more output and much stronger feedback control.
High sounds like s, f and th are often the first to become completely inaudible in a severe loss, and no amount of volume brings them back. Speech Rescue moves those sounds down to a pitch you can still hear. It takes some getting used to, and we introduce it gradually.
Yes. Loops in churches, theatres, banks and ticket offices send sound straight to the hearing aid, and for a severe loss that can be the difference between following something and not. We switch it on and show you how to use it at your fitting.
It is bigger than a standard hearing aid, because power needs a larger battery and a larger receiver. We think that is a fair trade when the alternative is not hearing. There are Super Power and Ultra Power versions, and we fit the smallest one that gives you enough.
