Phonak Virto Infinio Titanium

A shell milled from medical-grade titanium to two tenths of a millimetre, thin enough to fit ear canals that will not take an ordinary invisible hearing aid. The most discreet hearing aid Phonak make.

Why titanium

Strength buys thinness.

Titanium is around fifteen times stronger than the acrylic normally used for custom hearing aid shells. That strength lets Phonak make the wall roughly half as thick, which means the whole device is smaller and can sit deeper in the canal. For someone with a narrow ear canal who has been told an invisible hearing aid is not possible, this is often the one that changes the answer.

What you give up.

We would rather be blunt about this than have you disappointed at the fitting. Titanium buys you invisibility, and it costs you connectivity entirely.

No Bluetooth at all

No streaming from your phone, no hands-free calls, no myPhonak app, no RogerDirect. Roger only through a neckloop. There is no version of this product that connects.

Size 10 batteries

Disposable, and the smallest ones made. No rechargeable option exists, the cell will not fit. If handling small things is difficult, this is worth thinking about carefully.

Not the noise specialist

No AI speech separation, and it runs a version behind on the automatic sound system. If busy restaurants are your main complaint, this is not the hearing aid that solves it.

One thing worth knowing about the price. Titanium typically costs about the same as Phonak Sphere. You are paying for the titanium shell and the custom manufacture, not for processing power. If invisibility is genuinely the deciding factor, Titanium is worth it. If it is not, we will say so.

Being straight

Who this is actually for.

Someone for whom invisibility is the deciding factor and who will accept no streaming to get it. Typically a younger working patient who is self-conscious about hearing aids, or someone with a canal too small for an ordinary acrylic invisible fitting, with mild to moderate loss and no strong need to stream from a phone.

Frequently asked questions.

Because it is strong enough to be milled to two tenths of a millimetre and still hold its shape. An ordinary acrylic shell has to be thicker, which makes the whole hearing aid bigger. The titanium shell is what lets it fit ear canals that will not take a standard invisible hearing aid.

Bluetooth streaming, and rechargeability. It runs on size 10 disposable batteries. If being unseen matters more to you than streaming calls and television, that is a reasonable trade. If it does not, we would point you elsewhere.

In most ears that suit it, no. It sits deep in the canal with only a small removal cord visible if you look directly into the ear. We check whether your ear canal actually suits it before recommending it.

Size 10 batteries are the smallest made, so expect around three to five days depending on how much you wear them. We include a supply and show you how to change them.
